The Big River Comedy Festival is a celebration of stand-up and improv comedy happening at the DeWitt Operahouse Theatre
in DeWitt, IA on Friday, April 29 & Saturday, April 30, 2022.


G.I.T. IMPROV • Friday & Saturday @ 7PM | All-Ages

Celebrating 25-years of making audiences nationwide laugh, G.I.T. Improv has opened for and/or performed with Weird Al Yankovic (UHF), Norm MacDonald (Saturday Night Live), Howie Mandel (Deal Or No Deal, America’s Got Talent), Darrell Hammond (Saturday Night Live), Sinbad (House Guest), Brad Sherwood (Who’s Line Is It Anyway), Tim Bedore (NPR, Bob and Tom) and many more! We’ve worked with a number of Fortune 500 companies, have performed at the legendary Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois, and have headlined Thru The Stones Outlander National Convention numerous times. G.I.T. has an open run at The Bell Tower Theatre in Dubuque, Iowa performing to consistently sold out audiences for over a decade, and both produce and perform regular shows at The Black Box Theatre in Moline, IL. We were featured performers at Green Bay Improv Festival, So ILL Comedy Festival, and headlined the Compass Improv Festival in St. Louis for back-to-back years, and are proud to headline the inaugural Big River Comedy Festival in DeWitt, IA.

Featuring some favorite Quad Cities improv comedy talents, Bandwagon is always a new concert experience with an evening of improv comedy scenes, musical mischief, and audience interactivity.


THE MAGIC OF DAVID CASAS • Saturday @ 4PM | All-Ages

Iowa’s Premier Corporate Entertainer, David Casas has been making audiences laugh for over 20-years with his award-winning magic and comedy. From Chicago to Las Vegas, David’s unique and cutting-edge style of magic has made him one of the most highly sought-after entertainers in the country. He perfectly blends comedy and magic to create a truly one of a kind must see show! David has sold out theaters all over the Quad City area and has been described as professional, charming, funny, and one of the best entertainers in the Midwest! David is more than a magician - he is an entertainer. His fast-paced interactive magic show features mind-blowing magic, hilarious family-friendly comedy, and plenty of audience participation.


SCOTT WHITE (Headliner)Saturday @ 9PM | 17+ Admitted

A native of Dearborn, Michigan, comedian Scott White has been doing stand-up and improv comedy for over 20 years. He has been all over the world performing comedy and making his mark on the internet. If you are following Scott on any of his activities, you will definitely be taken on a hysterical ride. A resident of Houston, TX, Scott regularly works with the ComedySportz improv group bringing tons of impromptu laughter and audience involvement. Scott has worked on comedy stages across the country with both the best (and worst) comedians in the business. He has also had the pleasure of entertaining our troops in Korea, Japan, and Guam. You can also hear Scott’s comedy CD, Dirty White Boy, on XM Satellite Radio.


JEFF ADAMSON (Opener) Saturday @ 9PM | 17+ Admitted

Jeff Adamson has been there, done that! Originally from the Quad Cities and retired from Deere & Co., he was an owner and performer with ComedySportz Quad Cities for 30 years, and is a founding member of the renown national improv touring company, G.I.T. Improv. In addition to performing comedy, Jeff leads an intuitive and interactive applied improv workshop entitled Corporate Training Made Funny, and has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies to help them approach business from a different perspective utilizing the valued tenants of improv. Jeff has performed stand-up and improv from coast-to-coast always incorporating the "Yes, And..." philosophy in everything he does.

• Tickets for the Saturday matinee magic show are $5.

• We are going analog this year as there will be no online ticketing.

• There is no reserved or assigned seating as it is first-arrive, first-choice.
